Christmas and Poetry is something that has been together since humanity can remember. We encounter poetry to flourish during this time of the year, because of the cheerful and sad moment we all share and also because it has deep roots within our memories. Our childhoods were full of great and emotional moments during Christmas Eve and we always looked forward this day for the presents we would get and also to be with the big group of family members coming together. It was always amazing what things would happen during Christmas, that are just stories to share with love ones. Anyways, here I will post a few Poems from famous poets that felt inspired with the spirit of Christmas and tried to capture that warm “aroma” that we all feel during these days.

Immensity, cloistered in thy dear womb,
Now leaves his well-beloved imprisonment,
There he hath made himself to his intent
Weak enough, now into our world to come;
But Oh, for thee, for him, hath th’ inn no room?
Yet lay him in this stall, and from the Orient,
Stars, and wise men will travel to prevent
Th’ effect of Herod’s jealous general doom;
See’st thou, my Soul, with thy faith’s eyes, how he
Which fills all place, yet none holds him, doth lie?
Was not his pity towards thee wondrous high,
That would have need to be pitied by thee?
Kiss him, and with him into Egypt go,
With his kind mother, who partakes thy woe.
- John Donne
